Natural & Effective Treatment
Welcome to the Sheffield Acupuncture Clinic, my name is Vivienne Outram and this is my practice.
I am a qualified practitioner of Chinese Medicine with over 15yrs experience providing acupuncture and Chinese herbal treatments in Sheffield. I believe that everyone is unique and that illness is a puzzle which needs to be understood. Here at the Sheffield Acupuncture Clinic I offer natural and effective treatments for all sorts of health issues. And as someone who loves the natural world I am proud to use a medicine which uses only natural ingredients and no animal products.
What is Chinese Medicine?
Chinese medicine is a tried & tested system of medicine with a 3000 year linage and was developed through experience and observation. Acupuncture and herbal medicine are two of the best ways of maintaining health and treating health problems, and promotes your body’s own natural healing abilities.
Acupuncture works by improving the movement of energy/Qi, which can be seen as kind of bioelectricity within our bodies, and freeing up energy stagnation and blood flow. In this regard acupuncture can be particularly helpful at treating health issues which have become chronic.
Chinese Medicine respects and follows natural laws and seeks to treat the underlying CAUSE of your symptoms not the symptoms themselves. In this respect prevention is the key to avoiding more serious health problems further down the line. When you first get symptoms, acupuncture and Chinese medicine can quickly bring your body back into balance. When symptoms are left for too long, they are always more difficult to treat with either Western or Chinese medicine, so it pays to treat problems at an early stage.

Hear What Previous Patients Have to say:
When I first came for treatment I was extremely weak and ill from a long-term virus that meant I was in bed all day and could hardly walk. I could not even stomach noise or daylight and had to lie down all day with the curtains shut. My problems had been made worse by extreme menopausal problems including insomnia, painful joints and hot flushes.
It was a real struggle to get into a taxi and to the clinic but I’m so glad I did. I was worried that I would never get better but each treatment made a huge positive impact. I have seen other acupuncturists in the past but none have been as effective as Vivienne.
Vivienne has a very comforting and supportive manner, is very knowledgable and experienced and really took the time to understand my symptoms. I am now enjoying a full life, back at work and enjoying all my usual activities. In short Vivienne has completely transformed my health, I simply cannot recommend Vivienne highly enough!
